  5. LANtastic■ AI is designed for use with non-Artisoft network adapters which 
  6. conform to netbios standards. While claiming LANtastic■ AI is compatible with 
  7. the equipment listed in this guide, Artisoft is not responsible for the
  8. compatibility of any other application(s) or equipment running with 
  9. LANtastic■ networks.  All low-level drivers and NetBIOS programs required are 
  10. supplied with LANtastic■ AI, and no other programs are needed, with the
  11. exception of network adapters using "other" drivers.

  13. The following information is based on in-house testing of LANtastic■ AI.  
  14. If you are not a registered LANtastic■ owner, your questions should be

  20. Drivers that appear with an '*' are co-developed by Artisoft and the 
  21. respective adapter vendors under the Artisoft AILANBIOS Driver Development 
  22. Program.  They are not being included in the LANtastic/AI standard 
  23. distribution diskette yet.  Users can download the driver from Artisoft's BBS,
  24. or through other channels provided by the adapter vendors.  Support for the 
  25. new Artisoft product, LANtastic for TCP/IP, has not been included in these  
  26. drivers at this point.  For information regarding the Driver Development 
  27. Program, contact the Artisoft Compatibility Department at (602) 293-4000.

  145.         RAM memory addresses the adapter card uses.  VGA cards may need to be 
  146.         set to 8-bit mode, and/or shadow RAM/ROM may need to be disabled to 
  147.         avoid memory conflicts.
  148. I     The longer model of the adapter (6.2" vs. 5") is INcompatible with 
  149.         LANtastic■
  150. J     MicroChannel adapter - ADF file to configure the PS/2 is supplied by 
  151.         the adapter manufacturer.
  152. K     Uses Everex NetBIOS, NET21E.EXE, NET23.EXE, NET26E.EXE v2.21 or newer
  153. L     For a better connection, you may want to try the following AILANBIO
  154.         command line parameters: /ACK_TIMEOUT=10 /RETRY_PERIOD=10 
  155.         /BUFFERS=<# of logins allowed for REDIR>.
  156. M     Uses Everex NetBIOS, NET26E.EXE v2.21 or newer
  157. N     Uses TNETBIOS v1.52
  158. O     Uses IBM PC LAN Support program v1.1 or v1.25
  159. P     Uses Invisible Software NetBIOS ROM v2.7A
  160. Q     Uses PC Office NB_1K.EXE or PC Office NB_4K.EXE
  161. R     Uses Performance Technology NetBIOS RIMDRVR.EXE and NXATAARC.EXE.
  162. S     These adapters use a unique third party NetBIOS; two different NetBIOS 
  163.         programs can not be run on one cabling structure, therefore these 
  164.         adapters can not be mixed with other manufacturer's adapters on the 
  165.         same network.
  166. T     DRVR8530.COM, obtainable from Tandy or the Artisoft BBS, and must be 
  167.         run prior to running the low level driver, TLINK.EXE.
  168. U     EXP16LAN.EXE was developed by Intel Corp.  v2.01 of the driver was
  169.         tested with LANtastic/AI v4.1 and was found to be compatible,
  170.         except for the case when trying to configure multiple adapters on 1
  171.         node.  Frequent disconnects were encountered.  Users can download the 
  172.         driver by calling Intel's BBS at 503-645-6275 or Artisoft's BBS.  
  173.         v2.01 of EXP16LAN.exe is not backward compatible with earlier 
  174.         versions of LANtastic/AI.  It does not currently work on XT machines.
  175. V     AM21.EXE was developed by AMD.  v3.10 of the driver was tested with 
  176.         LANtastic/AI v4.1 and was found to be compatible.  NE2100, NE1500T
  177.         and compatibles are 16-bit Bus Master ISA adapters.  As a result,
  178.         only 1 adapter can be supported on a single machine.  v3.10 of 
  179.         AM21.EXE is not backward compatible with earlier versions of 
  180.         LANtastic/AI.
  181. W     NP_LAN_S.EXE and NP_LAN_E.EXE were developed by Kodiak.  v3.10 of the    
  182.         drivers were tested with LANtastic/AI v4.1 and was found to be 
  183.         compatible.  NP_LAN_S.EXE offers standard driver performance whereas
  184.         NP_LAN_E.EXE offers enhanced performance but requires a bi-directional
  185.         printer port on the PC.  v3.10 of NP_LAN_S.EXE and NP_LAN_E.EXE are 
  186.         not backward compatible with earlier versions of LANtastic/AI.
  187. X     HUBLAN.EXE was developed by Intel Corp.  v1.01 of the driver was tested 
  188.         with LANtastic/AI v4.1 and was found to be compatible.  This version 
  189.         of HUBLAN.EXE is not backward compatible with earlier versions of 
  190.         LANtastic/AI.
  191. Y     PE2AILAN.COM was developed by Xircom.  v3.11 of the driver was tested 
  192.         with LANtastic/AI v4.1 and was found to be compatible.  This version 
  193.         of PE2AILAN.COM is not backward compatible with earlier versions of 
  194.         LANtastic/AI.
  195. Z     ILANAT.COM was developed by Racal-Datacom.  v3.00 of the driver was 
  196.         tested with LANtastic/AI v4.1 and was found to be compatible.  This  
  197.         version of ILANAT.COM is not backward compatible with earlier 
  198.         versions of LANtastic/AI.
